Evidence suggests Kingman turquoise was originally being mined as early as 600 AD. This AZ mine is still an active mine; It is one of the last operating commercially active turquoise mines in the USA. 

High Grade Kingman is prized for its deep blue hue and tight dark-webbed matrix. Kingman Turquoise is classic southwest turquoise and is a well known in southwestern silversmithing.
